The 1993 Valpolicella Palazzo Della Torre is a beauty. It is a blend of 70% grapes that are harvested and vinified normally and 30% that were left on mats until December to dry and raisin. They were then vinified, and blended back into the vat of the traditionally vinified wine. The blended wine was aged for 18 months in barriques. The wine offers up complex aromas of leather, spice, cedar, dried fruits, and berries. Rich and full-bodied, with undeniable elegance and precision, this is one of the most provocative and persuasive Valpolicellas I have tasted. It should drink well for 3-5 years.Drink Dates: 1996-2001
