Big, tropical smells, bright acidity, medium full body.

Based on the hype around this wine, I found it disappointing. As usual, the producer used too much Grenache Blanc in the blend, which overpowered the more interesting varietals, like Roussanne and Marsanne. The result is a blend that is saline-tasting, too acidic, bitter and has burning tannins on the back end. That will teach me to buy a wine based solely on the merchant's shelf-talker without reading the description of the blend on the label. Live and learn.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
