Good balance of fruit, earth, and straw. Light tannins, enjoyable summer wine.

This interesting offering from Tablas Creek was surprisingly different from what I can recall of their previous bottlings. Whereas this "lip-stinger" of a wine is known for its high acidity, Tablas Creek's 2010 was surprisingly lush and balanced. An intriguing aroma of lilies and pineapples led to a soft, creamy wine with a flavor reminiscent of meyer lemon meringue. Drink now if you have some to enjoy the fruit flavor and flowery aroma at its peak.

A lighter style, with the promised acidity. A terrific wine with food, but perhaps a little reserved when finishing the bottle by itself after dinner. Still, nothing to complain about.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
