Consistent with previous bottles, this, too, was big, flashy and made in a more modern style, but showed an extra measure of brett and acidity. However, there was no mistaking this for anything but a Bordeaux. Will continue to buy.

Too young to drink. Still pretty tannic. We let this one decant for about 4 hours and it is still too tight. Needs another few years. Purple in color. Low rim variation. Slow legs. Black currant (cassis), Dust, Oak, Light toast, Black Pepper, Tar. Medium/Full bodied. Silky texture. Medium finish.
Agree with pro reviewers on this one. Modern Bordeaux and would probably have guessed young Napa cab if tasted blind. Huge fruit, and huge oak, but in perfect balance. Interesting spicy character too that gives it some Bordeaux character. I thought it was drinking well now, but has capability for improvement. For the price, this is a great deal.

Continuing with my exploration of the 2009 Bordeaux vintage. This is generally one of my favorite St. Estephe's and the 2009 delivers. A bit more modern and fruity than in the past, but with good blackberries, plum and a cinnamon/spicey flavor. Full bodied with delicate tannins for a St. Estephe.
