Producer Notes

No expense was spared by Betty O'Shaughnessy building her Howell Mountain winery, developing the steeply terraced vineyards and hiring Sean Capiaux as winemaker. The winery also produces a Mt. Veeder bottling .

My favorite of the night. Plush and fuzzy was one drinker's description. Perfect balance between fruit and tannin.

Nose of coffee and hazelnut. Big, round and full bodied. Lots of black currants and a hint of vanilla. The finish goes on and on.

Had with a steak at Wildfire and it was standout. Violet, mineral, plums with a dark purple core. Integrated and silky this is a young wine with a lot left. had some on the second night and it continued to evolve. Fantastic wine from Howell mtn.

Gorgeous nose right out of the bottle, big bold berries and cherries, deep ruby red, beautiful soft tannins and a long lingering sweet finish with no air time. I imagine that in an hours time this wine will be incredible. Great wine for the money.

I have had so many uninspiring bottles of wine this summer that I was beginning to lose interest in wine altogether....until this wine. Beautiful Nose of tar, flowers, and wood. Incredibly smooth with a finish that lasts 15 seconds. Wonderful mouthfeel and ready to enjoy now!

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
