Issue Issue 156

Vivid red. Drop-dead gorgeous perfume of raspberry preserves, Asian spices and fresh rose, with a deeper suggestion of violet. Sappy, penetrating and pure, with strikingly intense red fruit flavors underpinned by tangy minerality. Finishes with resonating spiciness and a lingering floral note. This wine's clarity is striking.

Issue 193

The 2008 Pinot Noir Kistler Vineyard exhibits lots of wild berry fruit intermixed with graphite, herb and spring flower notes in its medium-bodied, luscious style. The 2008 is more open-knit and richer than the 2009 from this site.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
