With a second and third tasting of this wine, I have changed my opinion. This wine is dark and heavy. Black currants, plums and blackberries. And then there is oak. Lots of it. I haven't researched this wine to see whether it is made with new oak, but I wouldn't be surprised. The overwhelming oak keeps this wine from being rated what WS already rates it.

Prototypical oakville cab. Huge boozy fruit with some moderate backed structure. Currant and some roasted notes are there. Certainly enjoyable but I'm not sure I get the WS ratings. There isn't a lot of interest or complexity here, but a good value nonetheless.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
