After resting for nearly 2 weeks (proud of my self-control) I opened the case to give the 2007 RM Cabernet a whirl. This is took a full 6 hours to really strut its stuff but the combination of aromatics, density, balance and finish make this one of the best young cabs I've ever had. Is it primary, of course. But you get a sense of the complexity lurking if you give it enough air. Glad I went long on this as it will surely be fascinating to follow. If it puts on a little weight without lossing balance over the next 2-5 years it will be staggering.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
