Gobs of blueberries, but not a lot of body. Fine tannins on the finish.

An amazing gorgeous, powerful Syrah. Almost completely opaque and dark, on opening nose was flying high but flavors muted. ~90 mins later it had really opened up and poured forth dark berry and herbal flavors and earth. Goes deep on the palate and fills the mouth. Tannin structure was huge but not aggressive or overwhelming. This just exuded elegance and was the perfect accompaniment to steak. I'm thrilled I have a 2nd bottle.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
