an older Pinot that was peaking. Took about 30 minutes to open and then provided a musty, mushroom, and currant flavors. This wine is probably a little past it's peak so this was the right time to drink it. The wine looks Ruby colored. It smells like Mushroom, and Red Currant.

14.1% ABV. Opened and poured through the Vinturi into a decanter. Followed over two and one half hours. Initial nose of dark berries with some smokey toast and spice. A creamy black licorice quality develops later. On the palate this wine shows sweet, rich, dark/black cherry. The mouthfeel is smooth, silky and velvety with an excellent lingering finish of ripe berries and earth. As always there is the typical Chasseur 'green' undertones. This wine is fruit forward and succulent yet elegant at the same time. High acid starts to kick in during the second hour. Paired extremely well with the bourbon glazed salmon and lemon garlic asparagus. Excellent wine!

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
