Beautiful, elegant, pronounced and delicious, the '06 Maurodos San Roman is beautiful, with plush red and blue berry fruit with coffee, espresso undertones. Opened up in the glass and with the decant. Acid always vibrant tannins still loom. Dill from American oak present, though not unpleasant. One of the most beautiful tempranillos I've had. Drinking now, but won't peak in 2-3.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
