Light color. Light Cherry nose. Good balance. Medium finish. Went well with goat cheese appetizer and also with my lamb entree. Was a favorite with my three dining companions as well.

The aromas of Bing cherries, wild berry fruits, root beer, mocha and rosepetal begin your journey. The affluent, round tannins allow this medium-bodied wine to exemplify flavors of pie cherries, plum, earth, sassafras, fennel and burnt caramel that were seen in the 2006 vintage. Much of thefruit is from Westside Road vineyards, and the higher natural acidity helpsthe clean, lingering finish to end with hints of berry pie.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
