A wine that lures you with its ripe black plum, cassis and silken chocolate notes. The entry is like a dried plum-laced bombe cake with a mélange of sweet leather, wild blueberry and undercurrents of dark floral, licorice and violets. The uplifting acidity is neither too much nor too little and makes for an extremely delightful and tapered finish that leaves a pleasant hint of grip in the mouth. Not overly jammy or gooey in any way; very sophisticated, especially at this price point.

Very generous aromas of black berry fruit, cassis and even a hint of chacolate. This is a wine with a lovely mouthfeel that lingers joyfully in the mouth. Delicious with roast beef, barbeque fair or game. This is a well made wine benefitting from its bottle age.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
