A deep saturated purple, the pure and graceful Syrah shows aromas of licorice, smoky spice, Dr. Pepper, bitter chocolate, flowers and vanilla. The finish is long with well-integrated, silky tannins. Kudos to Maggie Harrison!

Pretty amazing stuff. This combination of power and balance is difficult to achieve. The savory elements are intellectually stimulating and the sweet tannins hedonistic. This is going to be such a beauty with age.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
