Definitely came into its own, beautifully balanced California cabernet without the flabbiness, lots of herbs - thyme, rosemary, oregano, and cherry and currant flavors typical of the region and profile. The perfect wine for prime rib and with a half bottle this had aged to the right spot. Nose just went on and on. Big fan of Cain!

Oppulent fruit, cherry, currant. Layers of earth and tobacco. Cabernet franc predominates. Great structure with multiple layers.

initially somewhat harsh with aggressive petrol aromas masking any fruit aromas on the nose, but after being open 15-20 minutes calmed down to reveal some earthy leather, tobacco, and cassis... that being said, the first sip was all silk... carressing texture and mouthfeel, with complex hints of brown sugar & buttermilk leading to subtle baked raspberry pie and back again all with a certain earthy component, dusty tannins, finishing with scents of dill mixing with the fruit from the palate... great balance of structure and flavor

Very good wine. Strong fruit, but not overpowering. Slight herbal notes on the back and a little green bell pepper. Elegant tannins.

Young, Mtn fruit. Beautiful color (deep ruby red). Wonderful nose of rich red fruit, leafy component (eucalyptus). Really nice on palate, round. Rolls on tongue nicely and short finish but nice fruit. $125

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
