(15.9% alcohol) Bright ruby-red. High-pitched aromas of blackberry hard candy and dried cereal. Densely packed and superripe, with explosive crushed berry flavors; this conveys a powerful impression of sweetness but the residual sugar is less than a gram, claims Fred Schrader. Very pure and glyceral.

The estate's final release of Zinfandel, the 2005 Vieux-Os Zinfandel Old Vine Hell Hole Vineyard, is an elegant take on Zinfandel in a very challenging vintage. It possesses nice peppery, briery fruit, and good spice offered in a medium-bodied style that is ideal for drinking over the next 2-3 years.

A racy style that goes to extremes, but some may like this for its distinctive aroma of blackberry cobbler, high-toned toasty oak and hints of balsamic vinegar. Drink now. 450 cases made.

Holly Hell! Disgusting. Drank some, poured out the rest. Not going to rate as it was not drinkable.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
