Blue, red fruits jump from the glass. Wafting aromas of mild flowers, licorice and damp forest floor. Very long and smooth. A beautiful Syrah blend

Excellent aromatic fruits on the nose. Good texture but not as smooth on the finish as I was expecting. Or at least not as smooth as the other saxum I have tried. Still a very good GSM blend.

Strongest Saxum I can remember for some time as I have been mostly trying to work through the 02 and before. While I liked them, clearly Justin had refined his wine making as he came in to the 05 vintage and had started making some great juice. This was terrific, perhaps a little big for the meal (roast beef), but everyone at the table said we should have changed the food, not the wine... Big, bold and full of depth. A real winner.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
