Excellent juice. Some funk, some farm, lots of smooth grenache and a nice backbone. This is stellar value at this price point. It's drinking very nicely right now.

Deep ruby core with a slight fade to brick in the meniscus. Wonderful nose of jammy raspberry , camphor , hints of animal musk , and cherry blossom. Palate shows ripe raspberry and black pepper up front in a medium to full weight. Black licorice , kirsch , and leather flavors in the mid palate. Heat picks up in the ridiculously long finish with black fruits and spice lingering. WOW! Can't wait to try the 07!!

Ruby color. Rich Granache nose. Young and lively, but a little too jammy. Time may tame the grape and bring out subtlety and nuance. So we record this here and try again in a year.

Very heady perfumes of dark licorice, cr?me de cassis, beef?s blood, garrigue and dark cherry liqueur notes explode from the glass. The palate is loaded in a full throttle, extraverted, no holds barred style that is still evocative of not only symmetry, but subtlety. This is a thrill seeking pleasure ride that also offers plenty of provocative notions along the way. To be totally honest, this is just a slight hair behind the ?04 Deus Ex Machina, and at a fraction of the price. Not bad for a 'lesser cuvee,? huh?

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
