Note that you can use the 'Report a problem' link which appears after clicking on any individual listing to notify our content team and partner of incorrect wine matches.

As auction prices fluctuate from auction to auction and some wines have limited auction activity, the average auction price is updated twice a month and derived from a proprietary algorithm.

Intense, jewel-like ruby in color, with perfume of violets, cool weather cherries, and other red fruit, this fine Aglianico features flavors of cherry, spice, herbs, and pipe tobacco. The velvety mouth-feel from mid-palate tannins creates a luxurious texture on which to savor this deep, elegant wine. It should pair well with pork or other dishes for which one would serve a cool-climate Syrah.

We drank our second bottle with friends on 2/28/10. It had a great bouquet of tobacco, potting soil, cedar, black cherry and spice. The palate was smooth, balanced and very dry with flavors that followed the nose. This bottle did seem more tannic than the previous one.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
