Aromas of cedar, blackberry and cola. Firm, grippy texture. A big wine- good amount of tannin, acidity and alcohol but well balanced to me with a lot of life ahead of it. I actually think this was much more full bodied than previous bottles I've had. Opened up nicely with just a little time in the glass.

This is an interesting little wine from a winery that uses its flag ship spelled backwards!....thats a little cheesy, by the way. If you don't get it, look at the label in the mirror and you will realize who owns the label. On the spicy side of Napa, have had some of their more recent vintages, this is still my favorite.

So big, sweet and dense it's more akin to Port than it is to Napa Cabernet. Only a hint of liveliness (e.g., acidity and tannin) left and starting to taste flabby. Consumed a year or two ago, it might have been more balanced and appealing to those who like their Cali Cabs big and fruity. But now it's difficult to find a lot of positives to this wine. It's bound to overpower virtualy anything paired with it. Another example of making wine for Parker points.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
