What a wine - this was classic Brunello starting to enter its drinking window and come into its own. That classic ripe cherry taste and Italian sunlight aged grapes and dusty terroir - great nose, huge mouth feel and while still a tad tannic was not mouth bruising - it's nearly there. An extremely versatile wine that went well with crispy chicken, as well as my duck breast & confit leg. Very smooth and continued to evolve in the glass - fantastic, lasting finish. Probably has several years to go but also entering that mature stage. Hopefully my other '04 Brunellos will impress.

Cooked Cherry, Cedar nose with great balance and mouth feel. Lingering after taste with ample fruit to balance the tannins.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
