Nice colour. The nose start of subtile with purple fruits. Taste is very solid structure, with some peppers and lively tannins which make the wine quite fresh. The finish is medium with purple fruits. At 33 euro's this is quite expensive for the wine. This is the second wine of the famous classed pontet canet, but a bit overpriced for the score of 89+

This is a big Bordeaux with excellent concentration and a long finish. It is deep ruby / crimson, and has a good opaqueness. The nose has smells of black fruits (particularly blackcurrant), liquorice, and prune as well as a woody cedar note. As I said, this is a concentrated wine and has notes of black currant, cocoa, sweet tropical fruits, tobacco, vanilla and warm spice. It has a tannic structure that should prove good for further aging. Very good.

Mostly fruit at this stage but some stable emerging. Perfect food wine right now. Well-made second wine with good value.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
