Nice floral notes, delicate sunny spices and smooth tannins. Very good wine. Interesting note: the wine was great until I ate my asparagus with dinner and then the wine turned to rusty nails and I couldn't even finish my glass. Good thing I saved my veggies for last...

Drink Dates 2007-2018

The 2004 Le Stanze di Poliziano is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot aged in small French oak barrels. A dark ruby, it opens with a lovely, well-articulated nose followed by sensations of scorched earth, tar, flowers, dark fruit and toasted oak. It offers excellent length on the palate, with a very attractive, generous personality and fine tannins on the finish. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2018. 90 points

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
