silky smooth syrah without the typical overblown rich overripe alcoholic style now often present in this varietal. quite food friendly.

Dark red/purple with blood red ruby rim. Aromas of black fruit (blackberry/cherry) some kirsch liqueur smoke and vanilla. Somewhat subdued nose but there are layers of complexity there, just needs some time to be coaxed out. This is a slightly hot wine which overpowers the fruit with prevalent smoke and spice. Fruits should develop with aging or decanting time. Tannins are medium length and so is the finish.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
