Drinking really well now. Integration of fruit and tannin make for a very pleasurable experience. Black fruits, oak, and a medium to long finish.

Big, fruity and firing on all four cylinders. Perhaps it was the temperature in the room, but this bottle seemed hotter than the others I've had in the past couple of years. However, that did not detract from the enjoyment of this wine. Paired beautifully with Prime Rib. Drink, or hold until 2015.

Double decanted so as to sample and drink in first hour... Dark blue core, red rim. Clear glycerin on the glass. The nose is an amalgam of dark fruit with a hint of bell pepper wound around a cedar structure. Nice mouth-feel, full bodied and flavorful, classic cabernet expression, you want a nice big sip to experience the long finish, mouth-watering acidity, and yes some heat from the 14.5, but not out of proportion. Very satisfying, textbook Caymus. Will save the other 2003 for 2010+.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
