Issue 88

Toasty, black fruits (berry and cassis) in the nose with hints of smooth nougat. The palate is focused, dense and showing the expected tightly wound character. Given time, this could be a classic.

Fabulous always. Complexity in the 2003 was great. The tannins were high thus proving it needed a few years longer in the cellar. But we couldn't wait.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
