Tons of sweet black and blue fruits, along with licorice and spices. Moderate tannins suggest this still has good life ahead.

Color: Surprisingly dark, very dark for a 9 year Napa cab, but this is a Bob Foley wine, no messing around here! A purple red robe encircles the wine glass. Nose: Oodles of Crème de cassis, scorched earth, mocha, spice, blackberry and blueberry, this is the dark aroma end of the spectrum Palate: Similar, but with more currants than cassis, charcoal, licorice, blackberry and some blueberry, spicy. Full bodied, tannins are there but not aggressive; this is balanced well as the wine still has plenty the other parts in line with the largesse style.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
