Typical Pauillac flavor profile; the first thing I noticed was faint tobacco on the nose. The midpalate shows soft cassis, minerals and earthiness, but all in balance and flowing seamlessly. Exceeds expectations for a second wine; definitely in its drinking window.

Medium ruby. Still youthful in the glass. Black fruits and spice on the nose. Smooth tannins and great mouthfeel with a relatively long finish.

Ruby, medium deep colour. Nose carries black fruits with hints of plumes. Very fruity and deep smell. Nice fruity palate with hint of black fruits and plumes, smooth and subtle tannins. Flavour developed into tobacco and spices after an hour. Medium long aftertaste. A good effort for 2nd wine.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
