Named after its first owner, Chevalier de Lascombes, this Margaux ranked Second Growth vineyard produces powerful, tannic, yet elegant wines. really very nice. good depth and quite smooth - seems like it aged to just the right level. Tannins were just right. Better after 2 hour open - good on 2nd day.

Drink Dates 2012-2025

Tasted 2000, 2002, 2004 and 2005 Lascombes. 2000 was still tight with good structure and should have promise with time.

Not at all pleasant initially. 30 minutes of air time did wonders, as the wine opened, became rich and soft in the mouth, with abundant Margaux floral aromas and flavors with dark, plummy fruits.
