An overwhelming nose of black cherries and liquorice. Very soft and sweet with plenty of forest fruits and plummy as it breathed. No acidity at all, I personally like some to be present. A lovely wine, but time to drink up.

Second bottle of six, and it is terrific. Young, dark and vibrant. Earthy and blue fruit nose, poised. Full bodied, with a core of black fruit, oak well integrated. In balance and long. I am enjoying this cache of Grand Cru Classe from St Emilion. Long life ahead.

This wine usually sees 80% new French oak aging. Great color with medium thick legs showing moderate coloration. Right now, the wine only shows sweet spicy oak in the nose but there are plenty of deep dark fruits lying underneath. Cherry, berry, and cedar flavors. Quite good, but not as exciting as I expected.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
