Although decanted 2 hours before, it had strange smell and quite aggressive tannins. I even thought that it might be spoiled. Nevertheless, it developed through time to a drinkable wine. Especially disappointing in comparison with 2002, which I had recently.

Excellent with a superb nose of floral, toasty vanilla and oak notes, sweety red fruits. This wine is very balance and lot of finesse in mouth and pretty fine integrated tannins on a medium to long finish.

Opaque, deep purple with brickish rim variation and long legs. Clean, reticent bouquet of cassis, cedar and mineral. Dry intense palate of stewed cherries, blackberry and fig. Moderate ETOH with dense tannins and long powerful finish. Could age for years and years.

Still too early; good deep purple color but still too tannic even after decanting; after two days in the decanter, the tannins mellowed but some of the fruit gone at that point; very cherry, dried stone fruits, cherry cider, somewhat piney

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
