Really enjoyed this. Dark, rich, black fruits, with mocha and tobacco notes. Not a powerhouse, but very good regardless. Great with the grilled steaks.

Pulled from the cellar in a random grab. Dark and concentrated red. Considering the Reynaud-Parker connection and so forth, I was not expecting much. Then I recalled my surprise at liking this several years ago. Similar experience today - no lack of concentration, but rather elegant, almost crisp. Oak is unmistakable, but integrated. The small amount of cab franc (20%) neatly counters the 70% merlot. Refreshing rather than overpowering.

I am extremely disappointed with this wine?s current performance - I've laid down a few cases of this wine in my personal cellar. It was considerably better on release. The nose is completely dumb and only with considerable effort can some gamy fruit be coaxed out of it. The structure remains impressive and there is good fruit concentration but the nose is very muffled at present. 70% Merlot, 15% Franc, 10% Cabernet, and 5% Malbec.
