Wine was okay - probably 5 to 10 years past its prime. Color was brown on the edge, at first the was was tough to drink but after 45 minutes it was mellow and soft with little flavor.

Not as good as the '97, but still a very good bottle. Drank this bad boy with Porterhouse steaks, baked potatoes and fresh corn on the cob. A great wine with a great summer meal.

Drank this for my 40th birthday. Very young and tightly wound. Tasted as if it never opened, like a bud dying on the vine.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
