Unassuming nose, soft. Soft tannins, cedar, plum, cassis somewhat green and vegetal, medium but pleasant finish. Overall an unassuming wine, a pleasant bordeaux but not impressive.

A great bottle but not the best of it's class. That said I'm not complaining. With a rich filet roast it's divine. I'm keeping for another 2 years before trying again.

A lighter, medium ruby shaded vintage of Leoville that has some classic Baron elements of cedar box, sweet raspberry, iron and toast, but unfortunately it is a bit too austere throughout the palate to merit an outstanding performance. For fans of early maturing, savory St. Julien
