Ripe blackberry, black cherry and red currant fruit. Nice spiciness to the fruit. Very soft and voluptuous. Sexier than the Lynch-Bages. Classic Bordeaux notes of chalk, leather and earth. Supple, lengthy finish. This was a crowd favorite.

(from magnum) Dark rich ruby to mahogany red color; rich, almost exotic nose of black fruit, spice, haberdashery, and smoky meat; equally rich on the palate; complex and elegant; med.-full bodied; soft integrated tannins; lush yet with good backbone; fully mature & drinking extremely well now but should hold for several more years. Excellent.

(tasted several days ago): Classic excellent Bordeaux, and delicious with a hearty meal. Not a lot of nuance or mystery, but great to drink.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
