Pretty strong scent of Brett, but balanced by intense and still youthful fruit. Great wine for those that like the barnyard nose.

Nose reveals secondary aromas of animale and sous bois. This is a big wine but probably on its way down. There is insufficient intensity and length, and the finish is dry. It is in danger of losing its fruit.

Decanted but did not wait to pour and drink. Consumed with main course broiled chicken and lamb pasta. Excellent, but fading on finish.

Again this wine delivers the goods. Stunningly opulent. Just the right balance of sweetness, acidity, structure, mouthfeel and length. This time I didn't decant and it wasn't lacking in any manner. There is still a freshness to the wine although it shows a certain maturity. I guess 20 years old is how I like them - lol. 50+10+10+20+10=100

Huge, very concentrated, tannins still very present but a powerful wine that can be drunk now and will be better and better later. 95

Dark ruby, no bricking at rim. Beautiful, brooding nose of t and a, sweet red fruits, and earth. In the mouth, spices, strawberry and earth with mouthcoating tannins and a long finish. beautiful wine. ****/*****

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
