I was afraid this would be past it's prime. It was probably a touch past it's peak but it was still very enjoyable. Dark and almost coppery at the edges with a hint of mushroom and earth to complement the somewhat reticent fruit. This was better after a second decanting. Medium bodied and tasty but not extraordinary. Drink up if you have some!

Nice red center with brick edge. Tobacco, spice box, and lilacs on the nose (classic Paulliac). Raspberry fruit with firm tannins, however fruit is getting a little flabby. Only another couple of years before fruit fall behind tannins. Drink up.

A flawed bottle may be affected by cork taint, heat (maderized), oxidation, or excessive sulfur. Additionally, some people consider wines tainted by Brettanomyces (Brett), a non-spore forming genus of yeast, a flaw although there is much controversy surrounding the subject.
