Wine Advocate | Rating: 92One of the top Roses coming out of the United States today is unquestionably the Grenache Rose Edith from Cayuse. The 2015 Grenache Rose Edith comes all from the Armada vineyard and is whole cluster pressed (no saignee), fermented in concrete egg and aged in both concrete and stainless steel. It's almost white in color, but don't let that fool you, as it has beautiful intensity and length in its salty minerality, white grapefruit and citrus aromas and flavors. Clean, crisp and beautiful on the palate, without being lean, drink it over the coming year.Author: Jeb Dunnuck
In a state most often associated with rain and apples, vineyards occupy more land each year. Nearly all of this vineyard expansion has taken place in the eastern part of the state, where arid, almost desert-like conditions prevail. Winters are harsh and frost is always a threat, but such conditions, along with sandy soils, have allowed most Washington vines to grow on their own rootstocks—a rarity among wine regions throughout the world.
