2014 Domaine Jean-Jacques Confuron Romanée-Saint-Vivant Grand Cru
FRANCE / BURGUNDY / VOSNE-ROMANÉE
Burghound | Rating: 93
A cool, ultra-spicy and restrained nose features notes of both red and blue pinot fruit, sandalwood, violet and a hint of hoisin. The delineated medium weight flavors possess a silky mid-palate though there is plenty of punch to the concentrated, intense, balanced and highly complex finish that delivers outstanding length where a hint of bitter cherry appears. This classy effort is really lovely and exceptionally stylish. If this can add more depth with a few years of bottle age my score may be overly conservative.Author: Allen Meadows
