The 2014 Chardonnay Lancel Creek Vineyard is a powerful, immediate wine. Huge on the palate, the 2014 has tons of density, but less in the way of finesse and nuance. For another producer, this would be a superb wine, but here, it is the least exciting of the three Chardonnays.

A chunky, chewy style, featuring bold green tree fruits and apple, pear and citrus flavors amid mineral and crushed rock notes. Ends clean and snappy, with pithy citrus peel details, echoing smoky, toasty oak on the aftertaste. Drink now through 2021. 151 cases made. — JL
