International Wine Cellar | Rating: 94Bright pale yellow. Lovely riesling-like lift to the aromas and flavor of lemon zest and crushed stone. Fat with ripe citrus fruits and spices, with an impression of sucrosite leavened by the wine's dusty impression of dry extract. Finishes with superb cut and length. This has the texture and balance of a rich Alsace riesling.Author: Stephen TanzerIssue: September/October 2014
Wine Advocate | Rating: 95The 2013 Meursault 1er Cru les Perrieres has a fragrant bouquet with yellow plum, honeysuckle and jasmine scents, although I would like to see more mineralite expressed by the time of bottling. The palate is crisp and edgy on the entry. There is very good concentration here, well-judged acidity and it fans out wonderfully on the animated, lingering finish. This has great potential and constitutes one of the best Meursault Perrieres that I have encountered this vintage.Author: Neal Martin
The latest in a long line of Burgundy producers, Pierre Yves Colin-Morey is intimately familiar with the vineyards and growers of the region. These relationships allow him to select the absolute best crop portions from his preferred sites each year. Colin-Morey is strict about quality and his standards are very high; if he feels that a particular wine, once fermented, is not of an acceptable caliber, he will sell it off in bulk rather than see it through bottling. The wines see no batonnage at all during their 15 -18 month elevage period, and they are coveted by enthusiasts and collectors around the world.
