(100% whole-cluster vinification, with tiny grapes): Deep ruby-red. Sexy musky black raspberry and a whiff of game on the nose. Silky, thick and brooding, with a positive medicinal aspect to the concentrated, sweet flavors of blueberry, licorice and violet. Shows the creaminess of 80-year-old vines and really fills the mouth with flavor. Finishes with serious but very suave tannins and outstanding length. The whole-cluster vinification helped to preserve the coldness of the terroir , noted Nicolas Groffier. Broad and complete grand cru.

  • With his son Serge, Robert Groffier creates spectacular Pinot Noirs that are the powerful benchmarks of the respective communes. The Amoureuses, with its succulent fruit, is a kaleidoscope of aromatics and flavorsl. The Clos de Beze is an effort unto itself and has a mouth-coating, sweet earthy, gamy, bramble quality that is elegant and classy. The Sentiers and Haut Doix Chambolles offer classic, high-toned red berry and cherry elements that tend toward a bit more elegance and herb in the former and supple, round vibrancy in the latter.
