2012 Domaine Raveneau Chablis Monts Mains 1er Cru

Wine Advocate | Rating: 92
Iris perfume, kelp and intimations of shrimp shell reduction mingle with lemon and grapefruit in the nose of Raveneau's 2012 Chablis Montmains. Moderately full, yet firm and bright, this displays a more pointedly zesty piquancy and a more adamantly chalky and medicinally iodine-like ' though also mouthwateringly saline ' mineral streak than the corresponding La Foret, but less charm or succulence. Look for it to unfold gradually and serve impressively through at least 2022.Author: David SchildknechtInternational Wine Cellar | Rating: 92
Pale, bright yellow. Citrus peel, white peach and white pepper on the subdued nose. Tighter and less fleshy than the Foret today, conveying a youthfully imploded character. But this wine boasts adamant minerality and excellent tension. Finishes uncompromisingly dry, even a touch phenolic. In an awkward stage now, and more serious than usual for this cuvee at this early stage.Author: Stephen TanzerIssue: July/August 2013
