Wine Advocate | Rating: 93The 2012 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Lavaux Saint-Jacques is more understated than the Cazetiers on the nose, unfolding to reveal more forest floor/mushroom aromas neatly entwined amongst the black fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with supple, refined, quite elegant tannins and a composed finish that is more finesse than power. Very fine.Author: Neal Martin
International Wine Cellar | Rating: 94Good bright, deep red. Red cherry, stony minerals, rose petal and a suggestion of chocolate mint on the nose; reminded me of a slightly earthier version of a Clos Saint-Jacques. Densely packed, saline and intense, with terrific energy and a restrained sweetness to the flavors of red fruits and minerals. A lovely precise, perfumed midweight with a slowly mounting finish offering a strong impression of soil character.Author: Stephen TanzerIssue: January/February 2014
