A tangy, juicy lemon curd flavor is at the core of this wine, with dried floral, cedar, spice and toasted almond notes. Finishes with a pleasantly bitter citrus peel accent. Drink now. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. 1,100 cases made.Author: MaryAnn WorobiecWine Advocate | Rating: 94
Tasted blind at Farr Vintners Kumeu/White Burgundy tasting. The nose on the 2012 Mate's Vineyard Chardonnay has more intensity and complexity than the 2010: very detailed and harmonious with limestone, nettle and citrus lemon notes. The palate is fresh and poised with lime and green apple, very well-judged acidity with a linear, Chablis-like finish that is an absolute joy. This is an outstanding Mate's Chardonnay, perhaps the best that Kumeu River produced that year.Drink Dates: 2015-2030Author: Neal Martin

Strong apple, lime, and stone aromas. Lots of length. Plenty of acidity allayed with quite rich texture. Tastes like Puligny and a decided bargain. Closed with a screwcap which I love.Author: Daniel B
