    An elegant, graceful style, with red berry, strawberry and watermelon notes that are also quite firm and concentrated, ending with a long, lingering finish.

    One of my favorites in the lineup, the 2012 Pinot Noir Garys' Vineyard shows its 15% whole cluster fermentation with the darker fruit, ground pepper, herbs and background meatiness that shows on the nose. A rich, full-flavored, yet still seamless and elegant Pinot Noir, it has solid underlying structure and beautiful focus that comes through on the finish. It can be consumed anytime over the coming 5-7 years.

    The 2012 Pinot Noir Garys' Vineyard is the most complete of the four Santa Lucia Highlands Pinots. Beautifully layered in the glass, the Garys' offers lovely mid-palate juiciness and plenty of generosity. Dark red cherry, mint, violet and spice overtones add nuance on a creamy, expressive finish.

  • Kosta-Browne started its supersonic trek to celebrity status in 1997, when pals Dan Kosta and Michael Browne pooled their restaurant tips and purchased a half ton of Pinot Noir, a manual crusher-de-stemmer and a used barrel. Adding the business and investment-savy Chris Costello gave Kosta Browne the requisite resources to expand into the Pinot force they are today. Fruit is sourced from top-notch vineyards in the Russian River, Sonoma Coast, and Santa Lucia Highlands. Their philosophy is to make Pinots that express intense flavor and the "sweet spot" of their respective vineyards. In addition to their vineyard-designate wines, Kosta Browne also produces two blends: one from the Sonoma Coast and the other from Russian River.
