2012 Hundred Acre Cabernet Sauvignon The Ark Vineyard
UNITED STATES / CALIFORNIA / NAPA
Wine Spectator | Rating: 93
A deliciously pure and juicy style, capturing the currant and blackberry essence of Cabernet in a supple, graceful manner. Texturally harmonious, with just the right amount of sage details and dusty, earth-laced tannins. Ends on a tart note.Drink Dates: 2015-2027Author: James LaubeIssue: Oct 15, 2015Wine Advocate | Rating: 100
A perfect wine is the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Arc Vineyard from Woodbridge's property on Howell Mountain. This is an amazingly deep, rich, blueberry, blackberry and mulberry scented and flavored wine with skyscraper-like texture, remarkable intensity, again great, great purity, and the new oak completely concealed by the lavish and extravagant amounts of fruit. One hundred percent Cabernet Sauvignon, as are all these wines, the Ark Vineyard is certainly another blockbuster wine with no hard edges that comes across like a flawlessly constructed dress from an haute couture house in Paris. It should drink well for 25-30 years as well.Drink Dates: 2015-2045Author: Robert ParkerIssue: Interim December 2018 Week 1

In 1998 Jayson Woodbridge released his first vintage, one Cabernet, made from his own 10-acre Kayli Morgan Vineyard. The goal was to create a "Right Bank" style Cabernet from those clay soils. With the second vintage, he earned scores in the mid-90s and sold the wine for double the previous vintage. In addition to the Cabernet Sauvignon Kayli Morgan Vineyard, Woodbridge produces a Howell Mountain Cabernet from The Ark Vineyard and a single-vineyard Shiraz from his Ancient Way Vineyard in Barossa Valley.
