  • International Wine Cellar | Rating: 91

Bright ruby. Sexy aromas of raspberry liqueur, white pepper, licorice, woodsmoke and potpourri. Juicy, spicy and precise, with tangy lift to its juicy red fruit flavors. Conveys an impression of power with no excess weight and finishes long and spicy, with gentle tannins and the floral character carrying through.

Understated, with supple plum and black cherry flavors that gain depth and dimension. This is most impressive on the finish, where the flavors fan out.

  • The Fritz family founded Lynmar Winery in 1990 to produce world-class wines reflecting the character of the estate Quail Hill Vineyard and the Russian River Valley appellation. Quail Hill is a unique site in the region and is the exclusive source for the Reserve and Estate wines, as well as the foundation for the appellation-designated wines. The vineyard possesses superb qualities for growing world-class Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The combination of the vineyard's soil composition, long growing season, dramatic elevation changes, and clone and rootstock selections make it a prime location for growing these varieties.

The character of the estate vineyard guides the signature Lynmar style for all of the wines; red wines with rich, full, deep, ripe berry flavors with natural acids and soft tannins, and white wines with balance, composition, and expressiveness.
