The 2011 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Clos de la Garenne Duc du Magenta has superb precision and minerality on the nose with just a hint of blackberry leaf creeping in. The palate has a spicy opening, a little more fatness than Jadot's fellow 2011s, but it retains that keen thread of acidity. Good substance on the finish that lingers in the mouth almost like a Chassagne. Very fine.

Maison Louis Jadot 2011Puligny-Montrachet |Clos de la Garenne| 1er ?1er Cru White barrel Score: 90-93 Tasted: Jun 11, 2013 Drink: 2019+ Issue: 51 Outstanding Producer note: **Domaine Duc de Magenta Tasting note: This is every bit as elegant with refined aromas of citrus, white orchard fruit, spice, wet stone and dried rose petal. There is excellent mid-palate concentration to the round, rich and impressively complex flavors that exude a fine minerality on the intensely saline-infused finish. This is strikingly stylish and beautifully well-balanced though note that patience will definitely be required.
