(13.8% alcohol): Pale yellow. Complex, fragrant bouquet of pear skin, melon and ginger, along with a bright mineral overtone. Succulent orchard fruit and honeydew flavors are brightened by zesty lemon peel and floral qualities and pick up a hint of minerality on the back end. Lithe bit powerful chardonnay with excellent finishing clarity and cut.

The 2011 Chardonnay Hana Shinobu emerges from the glass with flowers, pears and white peaches, all of which come together on a rich, broad-shouldered frame. Intense saline notes inform the finish. This is a pointed, focused wine that encapsulates the austere Diatom style.
